Teeth whitening in Burnham is now one of our most widely sought after and requested forms of dentistry by patients of all ages. We feel that it is a procedure which has great potential to boost the self-esteem and confidence of patient's at a time when self-esteem and confidence are of the utmost importance.
Reasons to get your teeth whitened
Our world is becoming increasingly focused around the superficial. More and more pressure is applied to each of us daily to make sure we look our best and present the best possible version of ourselves to the world - through social media or otherwise. The aim to maximise your beauty is one of the most common reasons for patient's seeking our teeth whitening in Burnham. Many of us sometimes see our smiles in the mirror or a photograph and wish we could have brighter teeth. Those who consume large quantities of acidic or sweet foods can often find plaque build ups in or between their teeth to harden and become tartar, which often leaves marks on their teeth. Yellowing of the patient's enamel can also be caused from taking certain prescription medications, or from lifestyle choices such as smoking or drinking highly acid drinks.
Another common reason as to why patients seek out teeth whitening in Burnham is often because they have a social occasion on their calendar in which they wish to look their best. Events such as weddings, proms, photoshoots or job interviews and other occasions often call for patients to make the effort to brighten up their teeth. The effects of doing so are not to be overlooked, as a study has shown that those who have brighter, whiter teeth are generally better received and more noticed than those who do not. As such, if you are looking to make a lasting impact, then perhaps teeth whitening is worth the effort.
What does it involve?
The procedure of receiving professional teeth whitening from us here at Burnham Dental Surgery begins with an examination of the patients oral health. Then, providing the patient is fit enough to begin treatment, a retainer will be formed from an impression of the patient's teeth. This retainer is made to perfectly fit over the patient's teeth and will result in there not being any spaces or lines where the hydrogen-peroxide has not reached. From there, the patient is given the retainer to take home with them, and apply a thin amount of a bleaching gel into the interior of it. Over the next two weeks, the peroxide inside the gel will break down and mix with oxygen which will eradicate any marks or dullness and leave the patient with a visibly brighter smile - in perfect time for their important social event.
