You know how a great new dress or a new shirt can lift your whole look if it’s the right size, shape and colour that just suits you perfectly? Wouldn’t it be great if you could do the same with your teeth?
It’s not unusual to have one or two teeth that leave something to be desired. Maybe you chipped or cracked them when you were younger and you’ve been living with the damage ever since. Maybe one came through a tiny bit out of alignment. It’s not worth having braces for, but you know it shows and that bothers you. Maybe you have gaps between your teeth that you wish you could magic away.
Well, you can get that new-clothes feeling with veneers. Here at The Dental Surgery Burnham in Burnham, we often fit veneers to cover over minor surface problems on otherwise great teeth.
As well as the above problems, we also use veneers to cover over discolourations that won’t respond to whitening treatment.
What are veneers?
Veneers are tiny sheaths of dental porcelain that fit over the front of your teeth to give them a new surface. They are a bit like nail extensions, except that they are custom-made for your teeth, and that they last for at least 10 years.
How to get veneers
The first thing to do is have a chat with one of our experienced cosmetic dentists. You tell them what you are not happy with and together you can work out whether veneers are indeed the right solution for you. If not, then the dentist will recommend another treatment.
The dentist will next take digital impressions of your teeth from which the veneers will be made. They will also do a colour match.
When these are ready, which takes a couple of weeks, we can call you back in for fitting. We will remove a very thin layer of enamel to make a rough surface to bond the veneers to and make sure they lie flush with your other teeth.
When we are happy that they look great, you are good to go.
It really is that simple. Why not have a chat with us about veneers today?
