Straighter teeth without metal braces: subtle orthodontics for adults
Braces can be beneficial to patients of all ages, not just for aesthetic reasons but also to improve both dental and general health. The Dental Surgery Burnham understands the need for discretion when it comes to adult orthodontics, which is why we are proud to offer subtle alternatives to traditional metal braces.
If you are interested in enjoying the benefits of tooth straightening treatment without the hassle of a mouth full of metal, we invite you to join us at The Dental Surgery Burnham for a free consultation. During this consultation, your dentist will perform a thorough clinical examination to work out the best course of treatment to suit your needs.
At our Burnham dental clinic we use both discreet braces and clear aligners to reposition adult teeth. Whichever option is deemed best for you, treatment will be subtler, quicker, and more comfortable than with traditional metal braces.
Six Month Smiles
Six Month Smiles are a popular system of cosmetic braces that are used to improve the alignment of the “social six” front teeth – those that show when you smile. It is usually these teeth that patients to come to our Burnham dental practice are most concerned about.
Whilst Six Month Smiles are braces they comprise tooth-coloured nickel-titanium wires and clear ceramic brackets. This means that they blend in exceptionally well with the natural colour of your teeth, and will be barely noticeable in day-to-day life.
Six months is the average treatment time, with some mild cases at our Burnham clinic complete in just half that time. An additional benefit of these braces is that they use lower forces than metal braces, meaning that your treatment will be much more comfortable.
Often referred to as “invisible braces”, Invisalign is a series of clear, removable aligners that fit comfortably over your teeth to guide them into a new position. They provide a huge boon for dental hygiene during treatment because there are no special cleaning techniques to learn – you just remove them to clean them and to brush your teeth as normal.
The number of aligners varies from case to case and will be determined at your consultation.
